Practice Nursing Team
The Practice Nursing team is made up of nine qualified nurses and four nursing assistants working in The Waterside and Blackfield Health Centres.
They hold a vast range of skills which include the management of minor illness, chronic disease management in diabetes, asthma and other chronic lung problems, heart disease, well person screening, travel advice, immunisation of adults, children and babies and wound care.
They are available from 8 am to 6pm (times may vary) in pre booked clinic sessions Monday to Friday.
Patients can leave messages for advice and the nurse will usually call them back within 24hrs.
The team is committed to give a high standard of nursing care following evidence based practice, ensured by regular training updates and in depth training courses for any extended roles (eg nurse triage)..
